Adele has been a coach since retiring in 1998. Since then she has coached all over Europe, and in Korea. Participating in many GB Taekwondo coaching courses along with the ETU Coaching certificate. In 2014 Adele was selected as England Coach for Commonwealth Taekwondo Championships, Edinburgh, Scotland. Before coaching at the Centre (Scorpion HQ) Adele had clubs in Stainforth, Scunthorpe and Woodlands. Students from these venues won lots of medals including the British Championships, International Championships and G Level competitions in Europe. Gareth Gurd was also selected to represent Great Britain at the Junior European Championships where he won Bronze.

Clare is a coach at our Mexborough Scorpions branch and also teaches at Scorpion HQ. Clare has Coached since 1992 and is an ex GB National Team member. She Became a National Referee in 2010, before passing and becoming an International Referee / Para Referee 2018 – 2019. Clare is currently on the Paralympic Pathway for the Tokyo Paralympics in Japan 2020. Clare competed nationally for a number of years wining the Belgian Open and representing Great Britain at the European Championships in 1990.

Clare’s journey as a Referee

Clare Completed the National Referee course in 2010 and was very active attending 42 National competitions per year. In 2016 started attending International club competitions. Clare Refereed at the Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh as a Class 2 referee and attended the 2014 and 2016 World Taekwondo Grand Prix’s in Manchester as Computer Operator.

She then attended and passed the international referee course in June 2018, in September 2018 she attended and passed the International Para Referee course and was invited as a full international referee at the 2018 World Taekwondo Grand Prix in Manchester.

2019 – 2020 Clare has attended over 20 international events including Under 21 Europeans, Senior Europeans, and Olympic Weight Europeans.

In 2019 she was invited to attend the Paralympic Camp in Moscow and qualified to TOP 50 Para Referees in World. In Sept 2019 she was selected to referee at the Olympic Test event in Tokyo and as part of the qualification for the 2020 Paralympics refereed at the Costa Rica Paralympic qualifying event. Clare was then selected for the top 30 Para referees in the World to referee at the Paralympics in Tokyo, Japan in 2021.

Stella Whitehead

Scorpion Coach

British Taekwondo – Edu Care Safeguarding in Sport level 2

Stella was in the Great Britain National Academy for 3 years 2006-2009 where is attended training camps in China, Korea and Spain.

To add to the above Great Britain national team she also competed in the 2010 -21 European championships.

After leaving the Academy Stella continued to compete for Scorpion Taekwondo. Winning many international competitions in 2010, Stella was ranked number 1 in Europe in female +67kgs.

In 2011 Stella was selected to represent Great Britain at the Olympic Test event in London, losing out to Korea. She also represented Great Britain at the European Championships in 2012 in Manchester. In 2014 Stella was selected as a wild card for the World Taekwondo Grand Prix in Manchester in -67kgs.

After winning the British National Championships for 13th time, Stella retired and started coaching at the Centre.
